Accurate, quality tests are being used with immediate results.  Ultrasound referral is available on request.

URINE PREGNANCY TEST VS BLOOD PREGNANCY TEST

Urine Pregnancy Test

  • Done with a urine sample
  • Results read as positive or negative
  • May be done around 5 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual cycle
  • Around 97% accurate
  • If you have a negative test but believe you are pregnant, it may be too early to detect the hormone. Take another test in a few days. The hCG level usually doubles every 48 hours.

Blood Pregnancy Test

  • Done by blood draw
  • Results may be a positive or negative (qualitative blood test) or a number to be interpreted by a physician regarding hormone levels (quantitative blood test).
  • May be done around 5 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual cycle
  • This test is more expensive and requires a doctor visit.

A Pregnancy test checks for a hormone called hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin). It is made by pregnancy cells and developing placental tissues. hCG will pass into a woman’s system and will be present in both blood and urine samples. This hormone first appears in your urine from 10-14 days after fertilization. The longer you wait for testing the more accurate it will be.

There are multiple indicators of a possible pregnancy which can begin a few days after conception.  Contact us to take a pregnancy test to confirm if you are pregnant.
